SDA, Go Green undertake sanitation drive in Sonamarg | KNO

Ganderbal, Apr 08 (KNO): In a concerted effort to promote responsible tourism and safeguard the natural resources of Sonamarg, Go Green Sonamarg on Sunday organised a comprehensive cleanliness drive in and around the main market. As per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), collaborating with the J&K Forest and Wildlife Department, Forest Protection Force, and the Sonamarg Development Authority (SDA), alongside local stakeholders, the initiative aimed to address environmental concerns and preserve the area's pristine charm. Supported by locals, stakeholders, and faculty members of Go Green Sonamarg led by Coordinator Riyaz Ahmad Mir undertook the cleanliness drive at the Main Market of Sonamarg. Volunteers removed litter, debris and waste materials, demonstrating a commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement. Expressing gratitude for the collective effort, Coordinator Riyaz Ahmad Mir underscored the vision of Go Green Sonamarg, emphasizing the importance of eco-friendly practices and community involvement. Chairman of Go Green, Nadeem Qadri, commended the Green Team and stakeholders for their dedication, highlighting the significant role played by officers from various departments in ensuring the success of the campaign. He pledged personal participation in upcoming cleanliness drives, further reinforcing the organisation’s dedication to preserving the natural beauty of Sonamarg.
